Chester Water Authority Continues Its Commitment to Employee Training
Chester Water Authority (CWA) announces that 10 of its
employees in its Distribution Department have recently been awarded
Class E certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental
Protection (PA DEP). The employees are:
|
Kevin Brown |
Dave Krupiak |
|
Chuck Cartisano |
Dale McNeal |
|
Larry Cowan |
Tole Michel |
|
Dave DePrince |
Terry Nacrelli
|

The certification program recognizes a combination of
work experience, education, and demonstrated knowledge. Each applicant
must first pass a PA DEP-administered test. After passing the test, the
applicant must obtain a PA State Police background check. Once all of
these criteria are met, application for certification is then made to PA
DEP, which reviews all applications and makes recommendations to the
State Certification Board. The State Certification Board makes the
final determination as to which applicants receive certifications.
Every water utility must have a certified employee on
staff to make process control decisions. CWA is unique in that, as part
of its commitment to employee education and training, it encourages all
of its qualified employees – not just treatment plant operators – to
achieve certification.
CWA is a municipal water authority, providing drinking
water to over 41,000 residential and business accounts (over 200,000
