Delivering Quality |
|
Chester Water Authority has once again been commended by the
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) for
meeting all maximum contaminant level (MCL), monitoring, reporting,
and treatment technique performance requirements under the Safe
Drinking Water Program. This commendation validates CWA’s
continuing commitment to delivering quality water to our customers!
|
|
|
Also, Chester
Water Authority’s laboratory has once again been certified by PA DEP
to perform water analyses. The PA DEP requires all laboratories
that perform drinking water analyses for Pennsylvania public water
systems to be accredited by the department. The water analyses
performed by Chester Water Authority’s laboratory are part of
assuring that the water you receive meets all regulatory
requirements. |

Security Measures |
|
Security…it’s on everyone’s mind. Chester Water Authority
would like to assure our customers that we have stepped up our
security efforts and have developed plans to respond to any crisis
situation. In addition, the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) received a supplemental appropriation from Congress to
improve the safety and security of the nation’s water supply.
The appropriation is intended to reduce the vulnerability of
water utilities to terrorist attacks and to help enhance their
security and ability to respond to emergency situations.
Chester Water Authority, along with other water utilities,
received a grant from the EPA to perform a vulnerability
assessment of our facilities. This study analyzed and made
recommendations for all phases of our operations. Having
completed the vulnerability assessment, we are now taking
additional steps to improve security. |

You can
assist us with security, too. If you see any unusual or
suspicious behavior around public water supplies, fire
hydrants, or the water distribution network, please do not
hesitate to report the problem. CWA can be contacted 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week at (610) 876-8181 or (800) 793-2323.
