Jennersville Tank and Booster Station

In Upper Oxford Township, Chester County, the Authority has completed construction of a new 450,000-gallon water storage tank (shown in picture) and booster station.  These facilities were put into service in December 2001.  The pumping station has two pumps, each capable of pumping 550 gallons of water per minute (gpm).

The booster station and tank were built to provide ample fire-flow for this area of Chester County, especially the Jennersville Regional Hospital (formerly Southern Chester County Medical Center).  With both pumps operating simultaneously, all fire-flow requirements can be met.  Also, water demand is being met every day for the customers.

A new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) remote telemetry unit was installed at the same time and monitors the tank and booster station from our control center in the City of Chester.  Telemetry is a technique used in transmitting and receiving data over phone lines or radio.  This system replaces the manual collection of paper graphs and simplifies the process of generating reports.

These two capital improvements enhance service reliability and water storage capacity in this part of our service area.  Once again, CWA is taking steps to implement change and is using technology to enhance water quality, service, and value to customers!

The total project cost was $1.1 million for these projects to our distribution system in Southern Chester County.

Customer Security

Safety and security for our customers is a priority for the Authority.  That is why we outfit our field personnel with a uniform that displays our logo and the name of the employee.  Pictured is a field employee wearing an official CWA uniform.  Also be assured that all of our employees have proper CWA identification.  Our employees drive a vehicle that also displays the CWA logo (also pictured).
