Safe Water ó Itís Your Business

Providing a detailed report of how its water measures up to U.S. environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) standards, Chester Water Authority (CWA) has released their 2003 Water Quality Report (also known as the Consumer Confidence Report).

This report provides information about the Authority and the water that CWA treats and delivers to its roughly 40,000 customers.  As in previous years, CWA is proud that in 2003 the water it supplied to customers complied with all requirements established by the US EPA and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP).

CWA is a public water supplier serving southwestern Delaware County, PA and southern Chester County, PA.  Some are direct customers of the Authority and others are served indirectly, through resale of CWA water by neighboring utilities.

If customers havenít already received a copy of the Water Quality Report, a copy can be obtained by contacting CWA at 610-876-8181 or 800-793-2323.  Copies are also being sent to libraries and post offices in CWA's service area.

We want to remind our customers to play it safe.  If someone comes to your home regarding a water issue, be sure to check that he or she has a proper CWA identification card.  People may say they need to check your water quality or make a repair.  Only CWA employees with proper CWA identification are authorized to make water quality checks or repairs.  A person may tell you that they need to shut off your water unless you pay the bill immediately.  CWA never accepts payment at your house.

Along with carrying their CWA identification card, our employees all drive CWA vehicles with the CWA name and logo.  If CWA requires access to your home or business, appointments are pre-arranged by the company.

If someone comes to your home and you are not expecting them, do not let them into your home.  Call our Customer Service at 610-876-8181 or 800-793-2323 to verify.
